SUMMARY / BROAD FUNCTION
The Production Manager is responsible for cost effective manufacturing of company products consistent with required quality standards, safe work practices, effective housekeeping and maintaining compliance with personnel policies. S/he will drive operational excellence and build organizational capability to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Culture objectives. The driving focus is the successful achievement of department objectives through effective deployment of continuous improvement of key processes and training and development of staff.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Manage daily production operations through the production supervisors and production teams to maximize production efficiency including labor cost, volume or product produced, run rates, raw material utilization, yield loss, downtime, and slowdown while producing high quality product in a safe manner.
Ensure that standards and expectations are in place, routinely communicated, clearly understood and consistently met.
Monitor production’s daily operation; prepare the daily production schedule; and ensure proper staffing levels to include managing department vacation and overtime to meet production goals. Direct the prioritization of production requirements and shift activity among department supervisors.
Monitor productions training needs, organize monthly and yearly training calendar and ensure that there are sufficient skilled personnel in all production positions to deal with unexpected headcount fluctuations and capacity increase.
Schedule and develop and/or delegate the weekly production plan and all the activities related to R&D.
Meet daily production schedule and requirements. Work jointly with logistics and purchasing to ensure appropriate inventory is available, while balancing both production efficiency and raw material demands.
Monitor production indicators, set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets
Manage food safety standards and ensure compliance with HAACP, CCP, SQF, FDA, etc. and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted
Manage the implementation of new product manufacturing
Develop strategic plans to identify and address current and future challenges
Drive towards zero incident culture by supporting implementation of Health and Safety actions and deliverables
Communicate and work with maintenance department to maintain, repair or replace production equipment to ensure smooth operations
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Supervise, train and coach manufacturing teams including Supervisors and Team Leads to ensure maximum quality and productivity. Provide formal objectives and measurements for plant personnel and ensure that production teams are well trained, involved and committed to meeting production, quality, and safety requirements
Provide leadership and direction to the production department. Responsible for maintaining an environment for good employee relations. Work closely with human resources and supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing is maintained. Participate in hiring process to ensure we hire motivated team members
Establish clear lines of communications and teamwork within the production department and among the other organization’s areas for clarity on best ways to achieve the results for the Key Metrics
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Anticipate, plan, and execute capacity plans to meet customer demand; forecast material requirements; and control inventory levels
Support continuous improvement through the effective deployment of assessment and Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in food manufacturing management with project management experience
Demonstrated experience in process and quality improvements, implementing strategy for production operations, hiring/training/coaching employees and performance management
Lean, Six Sigma, CQE, or CQM certification a huge plus

The Quality Control Manager will manage the production quality team, the baker and the sanitation team to ensure quality and food safety are maintained in all steps of the process.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Manager the quality control team, the sanitation team and the baker with effective direction and training of quality processes and procedures to ensure the best quality products.
Develop and implement statistical process control of the line quality control.
